Why should I hire Salty Skin + Hair?

With over 12+ years of experience in special events + bridal, I have created countless breathtaking looks ranging from natural + classic to dramatic + sultry. Hiring a Professional Makeup Artist + Hairstylist ensures you can relax + takes the guess work out of doing it yourself.

I am here to protect your photography investment by using my experience to choose the best professional products + colors to enhance your natural beauty.

Which product brands do you incorporate into your services?

I consistently explore and assess the latest products available to ensure that my kit comprises only of the finest and most durable options. Among the professional and high-end brands I feature are Face Atelier, Hourglass, Make Up For Ever, Dior, Tom Ford, Kevyn Auccoin, Charlotte Tilbury, RCMA, Ben Nye, Graftobian, MAC Cosmetics, Glossier, Danessa Myricks, Kosas, Sonia Roselli, Rock Candy Airbrush and Temptu Airbrush. To stay updated and enhance my expertise, I actively participate in makeup seminars, classes, and trade shows, staying ahead in the dynamic cosmetics industry.

For hairstyling, I utilize select brands such as: Verb, Aiir, Kenra, Design.Me, Living Proof, Tigi, Schwarzkopf, Bumble & Bumble, Chi, Verb, Redken + Kristin Ess.

How long will my services take?

For bridal hair and makeup, I allocate 2-3 hours, depending on your desired look. Bridal party members typically require 45 minutes to 1 hour for hair and an additional 45 minutes for makeup. I typically aim to be 10-15 minutes ahead of schedule, if not punctual. Additionally, I arrive 15 minutes before our scheduled start time to set up.

Can I schedule a bridal preview before securing my wedding date with you?

As a highly sought-after bridal hair + makeup artist, we prioritize our booked brides + offer bridal previews exclusively to them. We recommend scheduling your preview 1-2 months before your wedding day so that you can see how your final look will appear. Your skin tone + texture may change based on the season, + it is best to have your hair at the same length + color for the preview. Additionally, having a preview too far in advance can give room for changes of heart.

If you would like to try out our services before booking us for your wedding, we suggest scheduling a standard appointment or booking us for your engagement. Please keep in mind that a bridal preview involves more preparation than a standard appointment.

What should I bring to my preview?

For your preview, aka trial, I encourage you to bring any photos or inspiration/ideas you may have so I can get to know your style + help you create your wedding day vision. If you have any preferred products you would like to bring due to allergy concerns, please make sure they a new + unopened prior to your appointment.

Can you accommodate a large bridal party?

Yes, we can accommodate large parties, including men's grooming services. Additional artists can be brought on at an additional fee for large parties and time constraints.

Do you offer any discounts?

All rates are firm and non-negotiable. Negotiating pricing or policies will not be tolerated and may result in a decline of booking.

Do you travel?

Certainly! We are available to travel and provide services beyond state borders, and we are equipped with passports for destination locations. Feel free to schedule a complimentary phone consultation to explore options for destination wedding services.

Can I work with you from a long distance?

Yes, we work with a lot of clients from outside of the Houston area + even abroad. Everything can be done through email, phone, or virtual communication platforms such as Zoom and FaceTime.

Will my hair + makeup last all day?

Yes, our makeup + hairstyles are designed to last throughout the day + into the evening. We use high-quality, waterproof products + setting sprays to ensure that your look stays fresh + stunning all day. You can have confidence in timeless, stunning photographs that will last for years to come.

How do I know your stylists are qualified?

All of our artists are professionally trained, licensed, certified, + experienced. Our team has been handpicked by Angela personally.

Are you able to cover blemishes and skin issues?

Yes, we are able to cover blemishes + skin issues, but please note that raised skin texture may still be noticeable even with coverage. We can remove the redness and discoloration but may not be able to change the texture of the skin.

How do I book your services?

Once you’ve reviewed our pricing + FAQ’s, you’ll need to submit a detailed inquiry. When you’re ready to book our services, a proposal will be sent out with a contract for you to review, sign, + return with your paid retainer. Please note that a signed contract + non-refundable retainer are required to officially hold down any booking.

Can you hold my date?

The demand for my services during peak wedding season months is very high, + for that reason dates cannot be held for any length of time. My availability is offered on a first come, first reserved basis + are only secured by returning a signed agreement along with your paid retainer.

I filled out the inquiry form, now what?

Because I predominantly work on location Friday through Sunday, all e-mails + new inquiries will be answered Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. During peak season months, an immediate response may be unavailable, especially if you inquire on a weekend or holiday. I do my best to answer all emails within 72 hours.

How does timing work for the wedding day?

Upon inquiring, I will create a detailed timeline based on your desired finish time for hair + makeup services. A timeline packet will be provided before the wedding day, including a schedule, reference photos from your preview (if applicable), + instructions for preparing and arriving early for services. Please note that the schedule is a guideline + a "butts in the chair" policy is in place to ensure timely completion + avoid late fees.

Can I remove members of my party from my contract for hair + makeup services?

Once a contract is signed, services cannot be removed. However, they can be replaced with other members of your party, with the final balance remaining the same. Additional services can be added to the contract if time permits, but they will be charged at the current service rate. It's best to provide an accurate headcount before signing the contract, as changes are subject to a minimum $50 administration fee.

What do you charge for destination weddings?

Each wedding is different, + we will provide a custom quote once we know all the details. We recommend scheduling a complimentary phone call or getting a quote. For all destination weddings, due to safety concerns, we will require an in-person meeting and bridal trial.

Can you install my clip-in extensions?

Absolutely! We are able to install + style your clip-in + halo extensions. Extensions must be 100% human hair + provided by the client on the event date. An additional $25 fee will be applied for any styles incorporating a clip-in extension install or already placed extensions. This is non-negotiable.

Are you able to work with curly hair?

Yes, we are able to work with curly hair. However, please note that hair services are given a 45-minute window, so if you would like to work with your natural curl, we ask that you arrive with your hair prepped accordingly. If your natural curl does not fit the desired hairstyle, you will need to arrive with your hair pre-smoothed for us to style as requested.

Are you able to work on a variety of skin tones?

Yes, we are able to work with all skin tones. Our makeup artists are professionally trained + have a makeup kit that can accommodate every skin tone. We take this very seriously + will never ask you to bring your own foundation, unless you have a specific allergy.

Why is the Bride’s service more expensive than the others?

The Bride's service is more comprehensive + includes additional features such as a mini facial + bridal touch-up kit. The travel costs are also included within a 5-mile service area, + administration time is factored into the rate. In addition, Brides who book in advance receive 6 months of monthly beauty tips + recommendations leading up to the wedding day, as well as a customized beauty timeline for the wedding day.

What defines an attendant in terms of you pricing?

Attendants encompass anyone other than the bride, such as mother of the bride, aunts, grandmothers, future in-laws, and even wedding guests seeking services. If anyone requires services for the wedding day, we're here to assist.
